Why the Australia Post has been forced to cut the number of deliveries it delivers

Posted September 20, 2019 07:03:52When it comes to delivery times, the Australian Postal Service (APS) has been in the news recently for being slow to deliver its parcel service, even though its revenue is booming.APS has recently introduced a delivery schedule, which allows it to cut down on the number it delivers.

“As of November, the APS is planning to deliver less than 1 per cent of its packages by 2020.

That’s the lowest rate in the country,” the company said in a statement.

According to the Bureau of Statistics, the average number of parcels sent to a household was 11.4, with a peak of 17.4 parcels sent per household.

The APS has also been struggling with a rise in its workforce, with 726,000 employees.
