NEW YORK — USC has hired a New York-based attorney to lead the NCAA’s legal defense of the NFL lawsuit against the organization.
Lawyers for the school said Thursday that James S. Bohnert III is joining the firm, which handles NFL cases.
Bohnert was a partner at WilmerHale, which represents the NFL in the civil case over the national anthem protests, as well as other cases involving the league.
Bohmann is expected to take over the firm’s civil and antitrust litigation practice after his current role is filled, USC’s football office said.
Bettsons predecessor at the school, John D. Bennett, also stepped down in September after 11 years on the job.
